At around the age of 2, children should begin visiting the dentist, and any issues should be detected by the dentist as soon as possible. Children under 5 are more likely to be hospitalised because of tooth decay than for any other reason; thus, maintaining regular dental visits is imperative in preventing this need.
Bringing your child along to your regular check-ups before then can be helpful. This allows them to recognise that this is normal and safe, and fun!
